Galletas

Galletas

The week between Christmas and New Year's Eve I was doing several batches of cookies. This doesn't include early December when I made a few dozen of chocolate chip cookies. I was initially motivated by our family tradition of exchanging cookies. I was later motivated by the excitement of trying new to me, Martha Stewart recipes and wondering what they would taste like. I was also motivated because I don't bake throughout the year as much as I would like. This time away from my regular routine allowed me to bake.

Thankfully all of the cookies I made had similar foundations of ingredients. I was mostly the flavor that made them different that was changed ingredient. I ran out of time to make my sugar cookie dough and royal icing. I did enjoy cutting the sugar cookies out and decorating them though. To my surprise the giant oatmeal raisin cookies turned out amazing. The chocolate chip and peanut butter turned out well. I am going to try the peanut butter cookie again to see if I get different results.

This year I definitely want to make sure I plan cookie making with the dough ready advance. I have become very found of baking over the years. I need to plan to do it more.
